Our Grading System: The Truth In Every Device

Grading is the biggest pain point in the industry. We solve it with our standardized, 52-point inspection process. No 'lucky dips', just consistent quality.

The "Wild West" of Grading

In the refurbished electronics industry, one supplier's "Grade A" is another supplier's "Grade C". This inconsistency kills profit margins for buyers, who have to deal with high returns and disappointed customers.

Next Loop was built to fix this. We don't guess; we measure.

The 52-Point Inspection

Every device that enters our facility goes through a standardized workflow:

  1. Functional Test: Using industry-standard software (PhoneCheck / NSYS), we electronically test every sensor, microphone, speaker, and radio.
  2. Cosmetic Grading: A trained human technician inspects the device under strong LED lighting to assign a cosmetic grade.
  3. Data Wipe: ADISA-certified erasure ensures GDPR compliance.

Our Grades Explained

Grade A (Pristine / Excellent)

  • Screen: Flawless. No scratches visible at arm's length.
  • Body: Minimal signs of wear. Maybe 1-2 micro-imperfections.
  • Function: 100% Fully Functional. Battery >80%.

Grade B (Very Good)

  • Screen: Light scratching allowed, but no cracks or deep gouges that catch a fingernail.
  • Body: Visible wear, scuffs around the charge port, or small dings on the bezel.
  • Function: 100% Fully Functional.

Grade C (Working)

  • Screen: Visible scratches.
  • Body: Heavy wear, dents, or paint chipping.
  • Function: 100% Fully Functional.

The "R2" Standard

We align closely with R2 (Responsible Recycling) standards for testing and categorization. This means our "Functional" definition implies:

  • All user accounts removed.
  • Battery charges and holds charge.
  • Touchscreen works on all points.
  • Buttons, cameras, and microphones operate as intended.
